Glasses and bottles in late-night clubs and bars could be replaced with plastic drinking vessels in order to prevent a repeat of an attack which left a man with a severe eye injury.
A working group of city councillors, who're conducting a wide-ranging review of licensing, will discuss the possibility when they meet later.
Police are still investigating the incident in Club Rococo in November, when a 47 year old man was hit in the face with a glass or bottle - he could still lose the sight in one eye.
