Pilot parachutes to safety
A glider pilot has escaped from a crash on the edge of Dartmoor with only slight injuries.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue report being called to Brentor, north of Tavistock just before 2pm on Wednesday. They sent fire engines from the West Devon town and Yelverton, along with a heavy rescue until from Middlemoor, Exeter.
Happily, the pilot had managed to parachute from the aircraft before it came down and was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
Fire crews found the glider and made it safe.
Though possibly not quite safe enough to fly again.
