An Exeter-based project aimed at preventing people at risk of diabetes from developing the condition is getting encouraging early results.
Potential sufferers are being helped to improve their diet and take more exercise, through a programme at the Westbank centre in Exminster.
So far, many have lost weight and their blood sugar levels have dropped, making them less likely to become diabetic... and their progress will be measured next month in proper medical trials.
