The transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin has been meeting business leaders in Exeter.
He visited Exeter Airport earlier to see the results of investment in new facilities, and the new approach road.
Mr McLoughlin promised that a Conservative government would provide new road and rail infrastructure to support economic growth.
