Device for stopping speeders accidentally spikes innocent tyres
Devon and Cornwall police have apologised after dropping their stinger out of the boot of a squad car.
The stinger, which is a rope of spikes used to stop speeding motorists, fell out of the vehicle on the A30 - and was then run over by three cars, damaging five tyres in the process.
Police say the incident was 'unfortunate'.
