But it's a false alarm off Exmouth
A jetskier initially reported to in difficulty led to Exmouth's lifeboat being sent to assist him in the sea off Orcombe Point.
The coastguard asked the RNLI to head to the scene following a report that a jetski had been seen floating in the same location for a long period.
Exmouth current has a relief inshore lifeboat called the D-792 Marie Theresa Bertha Barrass, which launched around 5.45 p.m.
It's about a mile between the lifeboat station and Orcombe Point, and the volunteer crew quickly located the purported casualty.
It turned out to be a false alarm. The lifeboat crew quickly ascertained he wasn't in difficulty, his vessel was in good working order and he didn't need their help.
