A local MP has been given the job of assistant to the new Transport Minister, John Hayes, who was appointed last week in the cabinet reshuffle.
Neil Parish, who represents Tiverton and Honiton, is now the Parliamentary Private Secretary to Mr Hayes and will act as a liason between backbench MPs and the Minister.
Mr Parish has long campaigned for improvements to road systems in and out of Devon, and hopes his new job will help with that.
