The latest figures have revealed the RNLI lifeboats in Exmouth launched 70 times last year and rescued 67 people.
The crews spent nearly 665 hours on service out at sea in 2012.
The lifeboat at Teignmouth assisted 49 people during its 45 launches and spent 362 hours at sea .
