An organisation tackling food poverty in Exeter has won lottery funding to expand its operations.
The Devon and Cornwall Food Association, which also operates in Plymouth and Cornwall, collects food that would otherwise be thrown away by shops and other suppliers, and passing it on to charities.
It has just won 50 thousand pounds from the Peoples Millions lottery, following a public vote.
The Exeter branch of Waitrose is the latest supplier to come on board, agreeing to let the project have food that would otherwise be destroyed.
