Crime commissioner criticizes unacceptable behaviour
A driver's been caught this morning filling out paperwork on the steering wheel of their vehicle whilst bombing down the M5.
The police call it distraction driving - and they're not happy about it. They've got a team called No Excuses that Tweeted about the errant driver caught on Tuesday morning.
Devon police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez says she's shocked that people think it's acceptable behaviour to drive down a motorway filling in paperwork. She says: "Nothing is so important that it can’t wait until you have reached your destination or pulled over in a safe place. Drivers need to understand that their actions have consequences – some of which can prove fatal. I hope the driver in question learns their lesson and won’t repeat what’s been seen today.
