The motorway was completely closed J26 - J25 overnight.
Highways England says 2 lanes have now reopened on the M5 Northbound following a crash involving 2 lorries last night.
It happened at around 9pm (Monday 16th September) and was closed overnight between J26 from Wellington and J25 for Taunton.
But lane one will remain closed for much of the day for recovery work and resurfacing of the hard shoulder. They are asking people to take care when passing the scene.
The lane closures are required for recovery work to continue and then for inspections of the carriageway. We anticipate there will need to resurface the hard shoulder and lane one due to spillages deeming the lanes unusable. Please take care when passing. (2/2)
