A man has admitted sending a racist and anti-gay voice message to the Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw. 37 year old Geoffrey Farquharson of Fore Street has appeared at Exeter Magistrates Court.
The phone message - left at Mr Bradshaw's Westminster office on June 15th - was played in full to the court.
In it he swears and makes threats - using highly offensive language and describing Mr Bradshaw as 'evil'.
Mr Bradshaw said it raised concern about the safety of staff at his Exeter office who would have to deal with Farquharson - especially since the call was made the day before the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox.
The court heard that Farquharson was suffering from mental health issues - and the case has been adjourned for a psychiatric report.
