The North Devon link road has now reopened.
Police say a man in his 60s has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a van fire near South Molton.
The North Devon Link road was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and there were miles of queuing traffic.
The road has now reopened and traffic has returned to normal.
