Four months on, alleged driver in custody
A man has been charged, following a hit and run in Torquay last year which injured four pedestrians – two of them seriously.
28-year-old Tyrone Shellam from Paignton is accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving on Friday 4 October on Lymington Road.
Police Sergeant Richard Newton of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The male had been previously arrested and released under investigation while extensive enquiries took place to recover CCTV, mobile telephone and forensic evidence which led to him being re-arrested on Tuesday [25 February].
“Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Unit take incidents such as this very seriously and will make every effort to bring those responsible to justice.”
Mr Shellam has been remanded in custody and will appear before Exeter Crown Court next month.
