Accused has two names
A 50-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Barnstaple on Friday.
Kevin Gale, who is also known as Kevin Maloney, is also accused of possessing a bladed weapon or knife in a public place.
He appeared at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear at the city's Crown Court on Tuesday
The victim, who was allegedly attacked at about 6.20pm outside a supermarket at Barnstaple Retail Park, hasn't yet been named.
