Cut throat thought to be caused by crossbow
A man has died following an incident in Braunton on Friday night in which it's thought his throat was lacerated by a crossbow.
Police have described it as "a domestic incident" and are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.
Emergency services had been called to Dysers close in the North Devon town on Friday just after 3 o'clock. The air ambulance took the man to Derriford Hospital where he died on Sunday. The woman had a leg injury which was also treated in hospital.
Detective inspector Phil Gray says they're trying to clarify what happened. "Families are both being supported by police and enquiries are continuing. Anyone who has information and has not already spoken to police is asked to contact us via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting CR/070454/18.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
