Woman seriously injured too
A man has died and a woman is critically injured following a collision near Sidmouth.
Emergency services were called around 3 p.m. on Tuesday 10 January after a blue Toyota Yaris and a black Land Rover Discovery crashed on the A3052 near Branscombe Cross.
The Toyota driver, a man in his seventies, died at the scene.
His passenger, a woman in her sixties, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital before being transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
The Land Rover driver, a man in his sixties, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the RD&E.
The road was closed for eight hours while an examination of the scene took place.
Police are asking for witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam footage, to contact them by calling101, quoting log number 0420 of 10 January.
