Police called by paramedics in Plymouth last night
A woman in her 20s is in a critical condition in hospital after an incident in Plymouth last night.
Officers were called by ambulance crews to California Gardens in Efford at 8.15pm (Wednesday 31st October) where a woman had collapsed in the street.
Police say she suffered life-threatening injuries and required emergency treatment by paramedics; she was later taken to Derriford Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
A 27-year-old man presented himself to officers at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He remains in police custody this morning and awaits questioning.
A scene guard is currently in place and enquiries are ongoing.
