It happened at Peak Hill.
Police have confirmed a man has died after a car went over cliffs and ended up on the beach at Sidmouth.
Emergency services were called just before 9.30am.
In a statement, police said: "A man has died after a vehicle went over cliffs in Peak Hill Road, Sidmouth, this morning [Wednesday 6 November].
Emergency services were called at 9.25am. The vehicle ended up on the beach. A man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police are currently working to establish his identity. Work is currently being done to recover the vehicle."
Sidmouth Lifeboat has also shared details of the incident on Facebook. They were first on the scene and say they were rapidly joined by other emergency services including Coastguard cliff rescue teams, Devon Air Ambulance, Coastguard Helo from St Athan, Fire Service / USAR and Police. They say Sidmouth Rescue Ski also on scene due to the shallow water at the location.
