Coastguard alerted in the early hours of this morning.
Police, ambulance crews, the Coastguard and RNLI have all been involved in a rescue in Torquay this morning (Thursday 30th May).
Torbay Coastguard said the team was alerted by pager at 4.17am that a man was in the water at Princess Pier.
When they arrived at the scene, police officers had thrown him a life ring. Torbay's inshore lifeboat then recovered him from the water and left him in the care of the South Western Ambulance Service. His condition is not known.
