Flat is smoke logged
A man has been treated by paramedics after being rescued from a fire in Kingsbridge.
The emergency services were called to Retreat Close in the town around 9.30 p.m. following a report of alarms sounding and smoke coming from a flat. The fire service says initial calls "indicated there was a person within the flat who was unable to get out."
Crews from Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Modbury went to the scene where a pan on a cooker had set on fire. Although the blaze was out, the flat is smoke logged.
The man was rescued by the fire service and left in the care of ambulance staff.
