Two arrested
A man in his forties has been seriously injured in the face and ankle, and needed hospital treatment after being attacked in Barnstaple.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They received reports of the assault in the Woodland Close area of Whiddon Valley, in the town between 10 p.m. and midnight on Tuesday 10 May.
A 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Torrington, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
