Emergency services were called just after 5pm yesterday [2 June]
A man's been taken to hospital with life-threatening burns - after emergency services were called to a property in Feniton yesterday.
Initial reports suggested the man was possibly trapped inside the property and in possession of a samurai sword, Devon & Cornwall said.
On arrival, officers discovered a knife outside the address. A man in his 50s was found near the property with life-threatening burns.
He was treated at the scene, then taken to the RD&E before being transferred to the specialist burns unit in Bristol - where his condition's described as serious but stable.
The fire is being treated as arson and police enquiries continue.
