A Tiverton man, who attacked his girlfriend, has died in prison.
31-year-old Dwayne Stoneman was jailed this year.
He died at Exeter Prison on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice says there will be an independent investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
