With temperatures dipping sharply this week, there's concern that some people on low incomes in Devon will be suffering because they can't afford to put the heating on.
The Community Council of Devon is helping many households in rural areas who have to buy heating oil - its bulk buying consortium, the Devon Oil Collective, http://www.devonrcc.org.uk/c/63/the-devon-oil-collective has saved members a total of eleven and a half thousand pounds this year.
But through its work, the council has come across many households who've been hit hard by the recession and are struggling to make ends meet.
