A man has been arrested
A member of the public has been thanked after they intervened when a police officer was being assaulted.
The patrol officer came under attack outside Torquay Police Station on Saturday morning when the member of the public helped the officer whilst back up was on the way.
Officers arrested a man on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
The officer who was attacked received medical attention at the scene.
