A Government minister has agreed that it's unacceptable for young people in Devon with severe mental health problems to be sent to adult psychiatric units, after the issue was raised in the Commons by the Exeter MP.
Ben Bradshaw also raised concerns that vulnerable young patients in this area have been sent to treatment units as far away as Newcastle.
He challenged the health minister Norman Lamb in the Commons, saying the Government's massive reorganisation of the NHS had led to confusion over who is responsible for some services.
The minister said he would look into the cases raised by Mr Bradshaw and by MPs from elsewhere in the country.
