The MP for east Devon has stepped into the debate over where gypsy and travellers' sites should be located in the district.
Hugo Swire has spoken out against putting 30 of the 37 pitches in Cranbrook, saying they should be spread across the district.
A consultation on the issue is running until January 4th.
Kevin Blakey, chairman of the Cranbrook Town Council, says that many residents aren't opposed to the pitches in principal, just the high number.
