Third man arrested on suspicion of murder

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Exmouth. 

Emergency services were called at around quarter to one this morning [Saturday 31 May] to an address in Ashfield Close in the town, following reports a man in his 20s was assaulted and found in a garden. 

He was pronouced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed. 

Scene guards have been put in place at the crime scene and at a second address in the East Devon town. 

Two men in their 20s were arrested in Exmouth and a third man, also in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Exeter. 

DCI Ian Jolliff said: “Residents will see a heightened police presence and visibility over the coming days as we gather evidence to deliver justice for the victim’s family.

“We ask residents affected by the police cordon to remain patient and stay in their houses if possible."

The two men remian in custody and police are appealing for witnesses.
