Too tired to appear in court: VIDEO
A man charged with murder following the discovery of a body in a burned-out caravan has been named as Lewis Finch.
Dock officers told magistrates on Saturday that the defendant was too tired to come to court. In his absence, no application for bail was made, and he was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Monday morning.
The body of Geoffrey Pearce, 47, who lived at a scrapyard on the banks of the River Otter near Newton Poppleford, was discovered by fire crews attending a blaze in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police have warned people not to speculated about the case on social media now that the legal process is underway.
