A national training event for rescue dog handlers is taking place today at Devon's fire service headquarters.
The premises at Clyst St George are used for training firefighters for dealing with major incidents such as collapsed buildings and severe floods and crews from across the country are taking part in exercises there.
Dog handler Paul West from the local fire service is part of the National Resilience team and organised the training event.
He says the search dogs are also being used more and more to help with police operations in the local area.
