Work on a 30 million pound new building on Exeter University's main campus is being interrupted so that a new contractor can be found.
The Living Systems Institute will bring together academics from various disciplines to find out more about how diseases evolve and how to diagnose and treat them more effectively.
It's the biggest single investment in science the University's ever made - with a total project cost of 50 million pounds.
But the current contractor can't find a way to deliver the University's requirements within budget, so it will finish the on-going preliminary work and the rest of the project will be put out to tender again.
