A new GPs' surgery will open in Cranbrook next month, meaning residents will no longer have to travel to Exeter.
The practice will be run run by a social enterprise organisation owned by Devon Doctors.
Priority for registration will be given to people with the most need for medical services, but places will eventually be open to everyone.
