A new outdoor education centre at Exeter Quayside is on track to train more than 25,000 people in its first year of opening.
The Haven Banks Centre is run by Exeter College on behalf of the county council.
Having previously operated from huts and outhouses on the quay, it now has new buildings and facilities for people, including those with disabilities, to learn water sports and other activities.
Its most striking landmark is the 22-metre climbing tower.
