New 'pod' homes for Mid Devon

WATCH: One-up, one-downs

Here's a new bijou way of living. A Mid Devon pod, courtesy of the district council's plans to enable more people to get their foot on the property ladder.

They're proposing new one-up, one-down homes that can be installed in just a few days and are eco-friendly.

Tom Norhthway, the chairman of Zed Pods, the people behind the homes says that because of the high-tech install, residents will be spared high energy bills.

A total of fourteen pods are due to be installed in Tiverton and Cullompton. Mid Devon Council already owns the land, which will keep costs down.

Councillor Bob Evans (Conservative) from Mid Devon District Council says it's better than staying in a B&B or mum and dad's back bedroom.
