The vast majority of hospitals in England say they don't have enough nurses - but Exeter's RD&E is not among them.
It had around 100 nurse vacancies to fill at the end of last year - but now has just seven.
The hospital has extended its apprenticeship programme, and expects to take on another 40 next year.
It's also taken on large numbers of nurses from Greece, Portugal and Spain and ensured that they get the support they needed after moving to the UK.
The hospital's spending on agency staff has fallen by more than half as a result of the successful recruitment drive.
