Crews called to the village of Woolston on Tuesday night.
Several people called 999 last night (Tuesday 28th January) to report the blaze, just before 9pm.
Initially two fire appliances from Kingsbridge and Ivybridge were mobilised, but more appliances from Buckfastleigh and Modbury along with a water foam carrier from Plympton were later dispatched.
On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that three oil tanks and a car were involved in fire, which was rapidly spreading towards a nearby property and other outbuildings and structures.
The fire caused damage to the three oil tanks, a shed, an outdoor structure and some cladding attached to the side of a domestic property.
