A report out today reveals that nearly 500 complaints were made to the Trust running the RD&E hospital during the 2013-2014 year.
Sixty-nine of them ended up being passed to the Health Ombudsman, which went on to investigate in 18 cases.
Of these, the original complaint was fully or partly upheld in just three cases.
The figures for all acute trusts have been released by the Ombudsman service this morning.
