The people of Exmouth have overwhelmingly voted ‘yes’ in a parish poll on whether they wanted more consultation on the plans to redevelop their seafront.
Nearly 5 thousand people turned out to vote - a turnout of nearly 18 per cent.
And 94.9 per cent said they DID want the town council to ask for a new independent consultation, before any more planning applications are determined for the Queen's Drive area.
Just 232 voted against.
However the results of the poll are not legally binding on the town or district council.
