A pink cottage in Kennford is the focus of a local controversy, over whether the colour it's been repainted is too bright.
The cottage is a Grade 2 listed building.
About 18 months ago owners Ann Kennedy and her husband Mark had it repainted, in what they say was the exact colour it was when they bought it some years earlier.
But now Ann has been told by Teignbridge council that she needs Listed Building Consent to 'alter' the building, and has had to submit an application for planning permission.
The council say no decision has been made on the issue which will now go through the usual planning procedures.
They say this will be an opportunity to take a balanced view of the matter and decide whether any action is needed.
A decision is expected in June.
