Penguin in Mannamead attacked
A fire at a pub in Plymouth last weekend is being treated as arson.
The suspicious blaze is believed to have been started outside the Penguin Pub, on Ashford Crescent in the Mannamead area between 4.30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday 26 March.
It was put out by the fire was extinguished by the fire service and nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything in connection with the incident to come forward.
Detective constable Kezia Worden said: “This fire has caused significant damage to the outside area of the pub.
“It is lucky it did not cause further damage to the property itself and harm to the occupants inside.”
