As local residents finish off their Christmas shopping, police in Exeter are urging them not to fall victim to opportunistic thieves.
They say criminals are well aware of the expensive presents in parked vehicles - and are advising people to keep their cars locked and valuables out of sight.
There's also an increased risk of house burglaries at this time of year - police are advising people to keep any expensive presents locked up rather than on display, or in unsecured outbuildings.
