A police car caught fire on the A38 this morning causing traffic delays.
Fire crews were called to the northbound carriageway near Splatford Split at around 10.20am to reports that a vehicle was alight causing two lanes to be closed.
Fire appliances from Middlemoor and Danes Castle were mobilised and they managed to extinguish the blaze, but the car has been completely destroyed.
The male driver was able to get clear of the vehicle and was unhurt.
