Crime in Devon and Cornwall has fallen by 6.3 per cent in the last 12 months, according to figures released today by the police.
House burglaries are down by 19.5 per cent, other burglaries by 14.4 per cent and robberies by nearly 21 per cent.
There has been a small increase in violent offences without injury, and sexual offences.
The force have also been praised in a separate report for making good progress in meeting the financial challenges posed by the need to make savings while delivering an efficient service.
