Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault on a 17-year-old boy in Exeter.
The teenager was on his bicycle in Pinhoe Road on Monday lunchtime when he was set upon by four similar aged boys near Polsloe Bridge.
They knocked him to the ground and punched and kicked him - and one then tried to steal his bicycle, before they all ran off towards Hamlyn Lane playing fields.
The victim needed treatment by paramedics for head and arm injuries.
Police say the area was busy and lots of people must have seen what happened - anyone who did is being urged to contact them quoting crime reference CR/051325/17.
