Exeter's city centre police are seeking extra powers to tackle anti-social behaviour.
They're hoping to be granted a dispersal order which would enable them to tell groups of two people or more, who're behaving aggressively or causing a public nuisance within a designated zone, to leave for 24 hours.
If refuse to do so they can be arrested.
Officers are asking the public for their views on the proposal which needs to be supported by the city council.
