Preparation work starts on Exmouth slipway

Engineering work begins today on Exmouth's Mamhead Slipway, to gain information that will help with the design of its replacement.

The provision of a new slipway is a key part of the town's regeneration plan, and will be funded from the income brought in by the sale of Elizabeth Hall.

The work involves drilling holes through the slipway to explore the sea bed underneath, and digging trenches to check the construction of the sea wall.

It's going to take up to three weeks.
