An Exeter heroin addict who burgled homes to pay for drugs has been jailed.
Exeter Crown Court heard that 38 year old Matthew Harris of Galahad Court stole a total of around 22 thousand pounds worth of jewellery and valuables from three houses - but he sold the items for much less than they were worth.
He was arrested while trying to smash his way into a pharmacy with a shovel.
In court he admitted to the burglaries and was jailed for two years and eight months.
