Police called to Devon's children's homes too often

Devon and Cornwall police have been called out to children's care homes more than a thousand times in the last three years.

The figures have been published today as part of a national report by the Howard League for Penal Reform.

They're concerned some care home staff are getting police to deal with very minor incidents.

Chief executive Frances Crook says it's inappropriate - and a waste of officers' time.
