It's been revealed that only 17 per cent of people in Devon would take immediate action to report any concerns they had about the sexual abuse of a child.
The NSPCC are expressing concern at the figure - particularly because 42 of the calls they received in Devon last year were so serious, they had to be referred to other services - including the police - in order to keep the child safe.
